ART SG 2026 took place at Marina Bay Sands from 23 to 25 January, gathering more than 100 galleries representing over 30 countries and territories. The fair showcased a wide range of contemporary artworks, attracting collectors, artists, and visitors from the region and beyond.

A notable feature of this edition was the introduction of the ART SG FUTURES Prize, presented by UBS. The prize awards US$10,000 to the most outstanding emerging artist in the FUTURES sector, aiming to encourage new talent in contemporary art.

During the fair, the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) acquired new works for its permanent collection. These acquisitions were made through the SAM ART SG Fund 2026, which was increased to SGD 250,000 for this edition. The fund supports the museum’s ongoing efforts to expand its collection with contemporary works presented at ART SG.

The opening day of the fair was marked by strong engagement from the art community, as highlighted in event coverage. The atmosphere reflected ART SG’s role as a significant platform for art exchange in Singapore and the region.

ART SG 2026 combined international gallery participation, support for emerging artists, and institutional acquisitions, further establishing Singapore as an active center for contemporary art.

Why it matters

ART SG 2026 demonstrates Singapore’s growing role in the international art scene by connecting global galleries and supporting emerging artists.
